Great Melton Cricket Club – Senior Cricket Update

First team captain.

Following a winter of change we are pleased to announce that George Bunn has been appointed First Team captain for the coming season. George has been with the club from joining as a junior and has held previous roles including leading coaching, managing the ladies side and Sunday captain. George has also agreed to take on responsibility for organising senior training. We wish George good luck in his new role.

Senior Winter Training.

We can now advise we have arranged winter training to commence on Sunday the 9^th of February for 7 weeks at Hethersett academy Sports Hall. Please note the times change slightly week to week as below. Space is limited to 28 people per week so availability will be requested through spond in the first instance, and you will be advised if you have secured a space. Numbers will be balanced between the 2 available nets each week to ensure an enjoyable and productive session for all attendees. The cost will be £5 per week.

In order to obtain number security, there are a number of places available to book for all 7 weeks at a discounted cost of £4 per session (£28 in total for 7 weeks).

9^th Feb – 19.30 – 21.30

16^th Feb – 18.00 – 20.00

23^rd Feb – 18:00 – 20.00

2^nd Mar – 18.00 – 20.00

9^th Mar – 19.30 – 21.30

16^th Mar – 18.00 – 20.00

23^rd Mar – 19.30 – 21.30

Pre-season

Once the spring weather has determined ground conditions we will advise when outdoor training will commence, hopefully mid-April. Further details to follow in due course.

There are currently 2 first team / A team friendlies arranged as follows:

19^th April – Thetford

26^th April – Swardeston A

There will also be a B/C team friendly against Eaton with the exact arrangements currently being discussed.
