Simon Steps Up

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chris Wright has stepped back from his role as Chairperson of Great Melton Cricket Club. The elected Vice-Chair, Simon Woods has agreed to take on the role of Chairman for the rest of the season. Simon, known to most within the club as ‘Shafty', has been at Great Melton for over 30 years, joining the club in 1992 just before we moved to Melton Park. He captained the First & A Teams for several years and is currently captain of the Over 40s as well as a qualified coach, heavily involved with the junior coaching team. Simon is 6th in the all-time appearance list, having played 589 games, mostly as wicketkeeper where he has 479 catches/stumpings to his name. All at the club thank Simon for stepping up and wish him well in his new role.
