Our U13 and U15 girls' section is designed to transition players from junior to senior cricket.
thursday night coaching
The U13 and U15 girls train alongside the ladies on a Thursday night. The coaching team consists of Matt Rushton, Jonathan Ellse, Simon Dye, Aslam Mohammed and Kerry Hilton . Coaching starts on Thursday 25 April and runs every Thursday from 6.30pm and until 8pm with an optional fitness session from 6pm-6:30pm each week. The last coaching session is on Thursday 18 July although matches continue throughout the summer.
The aim of the sessions are to continue to develop skills across all 3 areas of the sport whilst encouraging children to work on specialist skills such as spin bowling or wicket-keeping. Match play and tactical awareness continue to be developed throughout coaching and match play.
monday night coaching
The U13 and U15 girls, who wish to play alongside the boys in mixed fixtures are also invited to train on a Monday night from 6:30pm-8pm. These sessions are in addition to Thursday nights.
match play
There are plenty of opportunities for U13 and U15 players of all abilities to play in matches against other clubs depending on ages
U11 Blaze
Girls in Years 7 and 8 who are not selected for county squads are eligible to play in the U11 mixed league. We have entered a dedicated girls team (U11 Blaze) into this league to give girls from Years 5-8 who are deemed strong enough, to play cricket against predominantly boys teams from other clubs. This challenges the girls to extend their cricketing ability whilst also giving them the opportunity to play in an all girls team.

These matches are all played following the pairs rules of cricket. If you would like to understand more about the rules in these matches, they can be found here. This team will be managed by Laura Cook and Helen Swannie.
U15 Girls
We have also entered an U15 girls team into the Norfolk Cricket Board Girls Hundred competition. Girls from Years 7-10 are eligible to play in these fixtures which can be found here. This team will be managed by Laetitia Lawrenson.
Ladies
Children in Years 8 and above (Year 7 county players) are eligible to be selected for our Ladies' team. Coaches will identify players for selection throughout the season and speak with the children and the parents to discuss their thoughts. Ladies fixtures can be found here. This team is managed by Laetitia Lawrenson.
Mixed Teams
As always, the girls have equal opportunities to be selected alongside the boys for mixed teams according to our selection policy. The rules for which age group they can represent depends on the tier of the competition:
Girls are always able to represent teams in their own age groups. In addition to this, the following rules apply:
Girls who are not selected for county teams can play up to 2 years down in both tiers of the competition
Girls who are selected for county can play up to 1 year down in tier 1 competitions. They are not able to play down in tier 2 competitions.
They are also eligible to play alongside men and boys in our Saturday and Sunday senior teams. If they are interested in playing for these teams, they should discuss this with their coach.
Kit
The girls wear a mixture of colours and whites whilst playing cricket. You will be advised at the time of selection what kit will be required
