2024 AGM Notice

The AGM of Great Melton Cricket Club will be held on Thursday 21st November from 7.30pm, at Melton Park.

A week or so prior to the meeting an agenda will be sent out along with any proposed changes to the Constitution and annual reports on Membership, Finance, Senior Cricket & Junior Cricket/Coaching.

As I hope you will already be aware, GMCC only operates thanks to the efforts of a small number of people who put in a huge amount of time & effort, collectively, to keep things running smoothly.

As is often the case, we need to increase our band of volunteers to ensure the club continues to thrive.

Firstly, We have some important official positions to fill owing to previous incumbents stepping down:

  • First Team Captain
  • Treasurer

Treasurer in particular is a hugely important role as the club simply cannot function without one. It would suit someone with a financial/accounting background but that is not essential. There is an opportunity to gradually transition into the role over the next 12 months, working alongside outgoing Treasurer, Carl Fawkes.

Secondly, we are in need of people to take up the following non-elected duties:

  • Cleaner. Needed to clean the pavilion once a week during the season. This is a paid position.
  • Scorer. Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division One rules dictate that the club should provide a scorer for first team matches. The club may also consider paying someone to take on this new role.

If you’re interested in any of the roles or activities listed, or would just like to help out but don’t have a specific role in mind then let me know ASAP. Any proposals for new officers need to be made ahead of the meeting.

Also, if there is anything you would like to raise for discussion at the AGM please notify Club Secretary, Clive Gristwood (clg6564@gmail.com) in advance. I would much rather we dealt with all matters as agenda items rather than have an extended Any Other Business section at the end of the meeting.

Many Thanks

Simon Woods – Chair
